Mary Guterson

My biography isn’t anywhere near as interesting as my books. Trust me. You can skip this page altogether. But if you must know, here’s my sordid past: Grew up in Seattle—Roosevelt High School!!—went to University of Washington, became a speech pathologist, moved to NYC, married, changed careers (writer/editor), had two kids (I feel, this needs repeating to do it justice) had two fabulous kids, moved to Bainbridge Island, blah blah blah, wrote two books.

And that’s about it. I never, repeat never, got arrested, took drugs, slept around, or got myself fired from any jobs. Okay, maybe once or twice on a couple of those, but you don’t want the sordid details, do you?

I told you to skip this page.

Oh, also, I am married to the number one best man in the universe, because not only does he put up with me, live with me, and eat my bad cooking (when I cook, which is almost never), but I do believe he actually likes me. Crazy, I know.

And I have two dogs.
